  PROGRAMS

ANGEL TREE©
The Angle Tree© program is a project of Prison Fellowship© and networks with prisoners and churches to provide gifts at Christmas time. Inmates sign up to have gifts sent to their children at Christmas time. The names of those children (under age 18) are then distributed to churches that have signed up to purchase gifts. Two gifts are given to each child, one clothing item and one fun item (each in the $20 price range). Contact the CM consultant at LASBA or Prison Fellowship© Los Angeles @ 310 671-5463.

BLOCK PARTIES
Block parties are great ways to reach out to your local community.  A block party can also advertise your church, strengthen community relations, and unite a congregation in service and fellowship. The main components of a block party are food, fun, and entertainment - all free to those who come.
LASBA offers free consultation along with a simple step-by-step guide on how to do a block party.

COMMUNITY COMPASSIONATE CHURCHES
The Community Compassionate Church (CCC) program is a simple way to motivate and mobilize your church to do community ministry. CCC is a way churches can do simple acts of kindness in their comminities. The CCC concept is simple. A church schedules six activities in one year (12 month calendar) based on Matthew 25:35, 36.

CORRECTIONAL MINISTRIES
The CM consultant at LASBA is Charlie Corum. He is a chaplain with Pacific Youth Correctional Ministries© and serves at the three southern facilities of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Division of Juvenile Justice (formerly, CYA). Because of his position as a youth correctional chapain, Charlie is able to provide LASBA chruches with several ministry opportunities in local state, and other youth correctional faculities. Ministries include; Chapel services, meal fellowships, Mother's Day and Christmas card distributions and after care.

GIFT BAGS
Click here for a video of all the work that goes into this ministry
A simple ministry that is available to churches that want to participate in prison ministry without actually going into a facility is providing "Gift Bags". Gift bags are distributed, by the chaplain, to wards (inmates) at a local state youth correctional facility. Wards are identified who receive little or no money from family or friends. These gift bags are greately appreciated and are a wonderful way to let youthful offenders know that someone cares. You may also choose to include an information card with your church name and address with the items listed below (no personal addresses are ever allowed).
